Prepare Your RRB JE Signature Before Uploading
Use QuickPDFNow’s Exam Photo & Signature Resizer to prepare the signature file for the required size and dimensions, then visually verify that the complete signature remains clear.
Do not search for an “RRB JE photo size in KB” and resize an old passport photograph. CEN 04/2026 uses live photo capture. Prepare the signature beforehand, but take the photograph directly through the RRB application portal.
RRB JE 2026 Photo Is Captured Live — There Is No Passport-Photo Upload
According to CEN 04/2026, candidates are not required to upload a pre-existing photograph. The RRB application module captures a live photograph while you fill the form using either a webcam or the front camera of a mobile phone.
What Photo Should You Keep Ready for RRB JE 2026?
None. You do not need to prepare a passport-photo JPG before applying. Instead, be ready to take a fresh live photograph when the RRB portal prompts you during the application.
Face the Camera Properly
- Keep the camera approximately at eye level.
- Face the camera directly.
- Look straight ahead.
- Keep a neutral facial expression.
- Make sure the complete face is clearly visible.
- Keep the face centered inside the portal frame.
Do Not Move Too Close or Too Far
- Your face should not be too close to the camera.
- Your face should not appear too far away.
- No part of the head or face should fall outside the frame.
- Preview the image before final submission.
- You can retake the live photograph before submitting the form.
Remove These Before Capture
The notification also advises candidates to wear non-white clothing, preferably darker colours, to maintain better contrast.
Never Photograph an Existing Passport Photo
The CEN specifically warns candidates not to take a picture of a printed photograph, an existing digital photograph, or a photograph displayed on another device. Applications using such an image can be summarily rejected.
What Happens If the RRB Portal Detects a Photo Mismatch?
The live photograph is subject to validation and matching. If the image does not match as required, the application workflow may ask the candidate to download the online-generated Annexure VII, complete the relevant declaration, obtain certification/signature from a Gazetted Officer, and upload it as prescribed identity proof.
This is an exceptional mismatch workflow — it is not a normal document upload required from every applicant.
Your Later Appearance Should Match the Live Photograph
The notification states that the candidate’s appearance during the recruitment process should match the photograph captured with the application. The image can therefore matter again during later identity verification stages.
The Photo Is Live — But Your Signature Must Be Prepared in Advance
The next section covers the exact RRB JE signature rules: file size, pixels, DPI, ink, paper, scan box and rejection conditions.
Test your webcam or front camera before starting the application. You do not need a resized passport photo, but you do need a working camera, good framing and enough time to retake the image if you are not satisfied.
RRB JE Signature Size 2026: 30–49 KB, JPG/JPEG, Minimum 140×60 px
For RRB JE/DMS CEN 04/2026, the candidate signature must be uploaded in JPG/JPEG format, between 30 KB and 49 KB, with minimum dimensions of 140×60 pixels and a minimum scan resolution of 100 DPI.
How should you sign for RRB JE 2026?
Sign on clean white paper using a black ink pen. The signature should be written in your normal running or joined handwriting and should remain clear, legible and fully visible after scanning.
Do not write your name in BLOCK letters, CAPITAL letters or disconnected letters as a substitute for your normal signature. The uploaded image should contain the candidate’s own signature only.

- Signature of another person
- Non-white background
- Ink other than black
- BLOCK or CAPITAL-letter signature
- Poor resolution or blurry image
- Incomplete or partially visible signature
- Uploading an image that is not a signature

Prepare Your RRB JE Signature
Use the Exam Photo & Signature Resizer to prepare the signature for the required RRB JE upload range, then visually check that the signature is still clear and fully visible.
Use the same signature throughout the recruitment
The CEN requires the application signature to remain consistent with signatures used later during the examination, Document Verification, Medical Examination and appointment process.
Do not judge the signature only by its KB size. Open the final JPG and confirm that the full signature is visible, sharp and readable before uploading it to the RRB portal.
RRB JE Photo & Signature Checklist: Check These Before You Submit
Before submitting the RRB JE 2026 application, remember the key difference: your photograph is captured live on the RRB portal, while your signature is uploaded separately. Check the signature file before uploading and make sure you are ready for the live-photo step.
